The Presence of Jesus

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14


The first time that I experienced the presence of God I was in fourth grade. I remember that I thought to myself, "I'm going to see if this Jesus stuff is for real". So what I waited till I could could have some private time at home alone, a.ka. "I waited until my mom went to take a shower", and I threw on some praise and worship music, jumped behind the couch for some privacy, lifted up my hands, and said, "OK Jesus, if your for real you better show up!" Suddenly I began to feel this warmth, this presence that I had never felt before, although I couldn't see anything, an overwhelming sense of peace came over me. I felt good, I felt loved, I felt awesome. And all of a sudden I had this knowing that Jesus was right there with me.


A long time has passed since that moment. But let me tell you, just one taste of his presence turned me into a Jesus Junkie. And because of that, it is my desire that every single person experience the presence of God in their lives.

In order to see that happen, some things need to take place. Number 1- We've got to make time for Jesus in scheduel. Number 2- We need to began to pray and ask God to show up. Number 3- We need to stop doing bad things (repent). And when we do just that, God's promise is that he'll show up?
